The Mio Fuse offers an opportunity to track our individual fitness in the Physical Education setting and beyond. Tracking our own heart rate during an activity provides a more meaningful experience as our individual needs differ from those participating next to us. The information we receive from this wearable technology can be used to reflect on our performance and make appropriate adjustments to get the most healthful benefit from our participation. Wearable technology has helped me to learn about pacing myself, something that I have found not easy to learn or teach as most of us either workout at too high or too low of an intensity. By learning how to use this technology we learn more about ourselves and how we respond to specific activities. The downside of wearable technology of course is the cost as not everyone or every school will be able to afford it.
